As you complete the sign-up process, OneVest requires a few key pieces of information. To help make the sign-up process quicker and easier, make sure you have the following ready:
The Basics
OneVest will ask you for some basic information:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Address
- SIN Number (if you have one)
- Employment Information
Whether you're Employed, Self-Employed, Retired, Unemployed, or a Student, OneVest will need to know about your current employment status.
Assumptions
In many cases, OneVest may be able to make accurate assumptions about your profile based on your initial information.
If that's not the case for you, no problem. It's important that you correct any assumptions OneVest may have made about your profile and, in certain cases, OneVest may ask that you provide additional information during the sign-up process.
If you pay tax in another country
For each country, you'll need to provide OneVest with your tax identification number. This can vary by country and/or tax authority.
Once you provide this information, you'll be able to proceed with the rest of your sign-up.
If you're an officer or owner of a public company, and/or own more than 10% of a publicly-traded company
You'll need to provide OneVest with the trading symbol for the company or companies that apply.
Once you provide this information, you'll be able to proceed with the rest of your sign-up.
If you are a politically exposed person, the head of an international organization, or a close associate of one
This includes if you're a:
- Politically-Exposed Domestic Person (sometimes referred to as a PEDP or PEP)
- Politically-Exposed Foreign Person (sometimes referred to as a PEFP)
- Head of an International Organization (sometimes referred to as an HIO)
- Close Associate of any of the above (sometimes referred to as a CA)
OneVest will still be able to process your sign-up, but the support team will follow up separately with a form for you to sign. You'll still be able to access your OneVest account,, but you won't be able to initiate transfers until your status is confirmed.
If you or your family members are employed by CIRO or by an CIRO Member Firm
You'll need to provide OneVest with information about your reporting requirements.
OneVest will still be able to process your sign-up, but the support team will follow up separately to confirm the name of the company you work at and your position. You'll still be able to access your OneVest account, but you won't be able to initiate transfers until your status is confirmed.
ID Verification
During the sign-up process, you will be prompted to provide ID verification by submitting a picture of both your document of choice and your "selfie." To complete the ID verification, please follow the instructions on your device.
